Daddy’s Helper

Each of my children is unique and special in their own way. Andy was challenging as a baby and toddler, but he has come into his own in his fourth year. He is always the first to offer to help or take initiate around the house. He wants to help with laundry, yard work and dusting. He asked me this morning when is the next time we can pull weeds. ūüôā

His weekly “job” is to round up all the trash on Mondays and take the can out to the curb. He will pull the kitchen trash out and tie it up and haul it outside by himself! Let me remind you that this kid is only 4 years old. On Sundays, Daddy makes a pancake breakfast¬†for the family¬†and Andy, as always, was the first to volunteer to help. I just happened to have my camera handy so I caught a few shots. God bless this boy!

Marcus + Kristy

Is this not the cutest little family ever? These two artists got engaged last year and plan to tie the knot next year. Dressing up in 50s style attire was a fantastic idea, and I thought a picnic in the park would give it the vintage flair they were after. Spending time with them and baby Penelope was such a joy and we all had so much fun!

A ruckus was brewing outside my window and I had to see what all the commotion was about. Ultra villian Daddy and Action Jackson had a show down yesterday in our own front yard! The masked men were in a knock-down, drag out, winner take all dual to the end! Then, as out of no where, Supergirl Amaya swoops in to save the day! Luckily, I had my camera in hand to capture this awesome event and I can share it with all of you!

Our caped crusaders have saved the day! Hooray!!!

**I want to give a special thanks to my friend who went late night shopping with me to Michael’s to score a deal on these after Halloween dress up capes!**

Last year was my busiest, most successful photography year. I did fewer weddings than 2013, but way more family shoots. I wanted to share some photographs from one of my¬†favorite families; the Rivera family. Both Jillian and Robert are hearing impaired. They have three children and have another bundle of joy on the way. The children are not hearing impaired, but they all communicate through sign language. I was nervous at first because I wasn’t sure if I could communicate clearly because I don’t know how to sign. Despite the differences, we had such a fun time! I couldn’t be more pleased with how cooperative the kids were and the pictures were fantastic. My favorite shot (which was Jillian’s idea) was to have everyone sign “I love you” around her belly. That¬†picture gives me warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Many blessings to you and your family, Jillian! Can’t wait to meet baby Rivera!

This sweet family was blessed with their third baby girl on January 9th (my mother’s birthday!). Amber asked me to take family photos to celebrate. I was hesitant, because I have seen the photos in their home. Beautiful posed portraits with fantastic backdrops and perfect smiles from everyone. A traditional photographer I am not, so I was praying she wouldn’t be disappointed. We had big bears, guitars, a baby monkey, a tiny crown and a stuffed puppy dog on top of Ava’s head. Tons o’ fun!
